Coverack Primary School

Welcome to Coverack Primary School.

Our small rural school is situated above the picturesque village of Coverack. We aim to provide a secure, happy environment where children’s imaginations and potential for learning can be stimulated. Staff and Governors are committed to delivering he highest quality of education whilst also ensuring each child is given the opportunity to develop as an individual in a community where everyone’s welfare is equally valued.

We actively promote the ‘arts’ and have a very strong musical tradition. The wider community abounds with talented artists, crafts people, writers and local ‘experts, and we take every opportunity to enhance learning by making visits or inviting visitors into our school.

The school opened in 1876 and has been modernised over the years to make the most of the available space. In 2000, a major community project, Coverack Space 2000, transformed accommodation in the school providing an additional upstairs classroom, releasing downstairs space for use as a school hall. We are also very fortunate to have our own kitchen, which provides excellent midday meals cooked on the premises.
There is also a large playing field which the children use on a regular basis.

Children are currently taught in two classes – KS2 [7 – 11 year olds] and EYFS/KS1 [ 5r – 7 year olds].

Coverack After School Club [CASC] operates from Monday to Thursday between 3.30 and 5.30. We work very closely with St Keverne School, which is only a couple of miles away, and also with Grade Ruan C of E School, and Manaccan School, as part of the KESKOWETHYANS Primary Schools partnership.
