RACE 2 held at Coverack School on 15th November 2016
As part of the MAT Sports Competitions, Coverack School hosted the Keskowethyans KS2 Cross Country Race 2 this week.

Children from all five schools competed against each other in the event.
Mrs Brown, who organises the Keskowethyans Cross Country League said "Well done to the 25 brave runners who took part in a misty Cross country at Coverack. You were all fabulous-great attitudes and sportsmanship, as well as some great running! It was lovely to see children from all 5 schools taking part.
A special thank you to the parents and staff members who helped with marshalling and transporting children to the event"

St Keverne School was well represented by Daniel, Libby, Ruby, Meredith, Edward, Finley, Callum and Ellie. Well done everyone.

Special thanks to Finley who encouraged and supported one of the younger pupils from Manaccan School. Fin ran round the course with them when they were struggling. What a star!

The Keskowethyans Hockey Tournament took place on Friday 7th October . The year 3-4 and 5-6 competition was held at Manaccan tennis courts under nice warm sunny conditions.

The players tested their skill under pressure and under the eye of the Keskowethyans referees battling their way through  108 goals over the 2 hours.

The winners of year 3-4 were Grade Ruan while Coverack years 5-6 won their age group. The final result came down to a single goal difference with Grade Ruan progressing onto the Mullion and Helston cluster event which they went on to win on Wednesday 12th October.

Grade Ruan will now progress to the Cornwall School Games final at Penair on Friday 28th April.

It was great to see so many parent supporters able to attend and enjoy watching the competition on the day.

A report on the hockey tournament from Jacob and Rosko:
All of Mohegan Class went to Manaccan Tennis Courts to take part in the Five Schools Hockey Tournament on Friday 7 October.  Each team had four players so there were two teams for the Y5-6 and two teams for the Y3-4.  The Year 5-6s won all four of their matches while the Y3-4s won two of the four matches.  This meant that overall Coverack won the Y5-6 part of the tournament and came second in the Y3-4s.
Winning was great but we also enjoyed seeing our friends from all the other schools.  Rosko said he liked the competitiveness of hockey and the speed of the game.
Thank you very much to Mr Studd for organising the event and the parents and staff that helped with transport.  Congratulations to Grade Ruan for winning the next stage of the competition at Culdrose.
